Oxfordshire Bat Group Presentation

On Tuesday 27th January we were delighted to welcome David Endacott of the Oxfordshire Bat Group to our Tuesday Speaker Evening at the Carter Institute.

He was a wonderful presenter explaining about the work that he has done as a member of the Oxfordshire Bat Group since the late 1980s.

It was formed in response to dramatic declines in bat populations nationwide and is part of a network of county groups set up to help conserve bats and to educate and inform the public. Their work involves bat rescue, taking care of and, where possible, rehabilitating grounded bats found by members of the public. David leads bat walks, gives talks to community groups such as ours and he carries out surveys including those for the National Bat Monitoring Programme. So if you find a bat in need of help or you need a survey to be carried out, he is the person to contact!

The highlight of the talk for the enthusiastic audience was meeting 3 delightful bats which are in his care.
