Recycling information

Information on where to recycle different items.

Local Authority Recycling

West Oxfordshire District Council provide information on the items they will take away with your regular roadside collections on the WODC website.

The nearest Recycling Centres have web pages on the Oxfordshire County Council website explaining what can be recycled at Stanford in the Vale near Faringdon and Dix Pit near Stanton Harcourt.

Specific Items

These items are not currently collected or recycled by Oxfordshire County Council:

Electrical Items: WODC will take some small appliances in their kerbside recycling collections. Larger items can be recycled at WODC recycling centres. Curry's also accept electrical items to harvest parts, recycle or repair - find out more on the Curry's website.

Toothpaste Tubes: WODC do not accept empty toothpaste tubes in their kerbside recycling collections. However, Boots offer a recycling service for most personal care product packaging. For more information please check the Boots website.

Blister Packs: We are accepting a 'shoe box size full' of empty blister packs from visitors to the Repair Cafes in return for a small donation (we have to pay for them to be recycled). More information can be found here. Alternatively you can take your empty blister packs to Boots.

PaintCommunity Repaint have collection points for leftover paint in Newbury and Reading and other locations.

The paint is offered for re-use from a number of scheme members across the country such as the Scrapstore in Swindon, in exchange for a donation.
